Training for your National Private Pilot Licence (Microlight Rating)
Welcome to the Training Page. A National Private Pilots licence (NPPL), microlight rating, is not as difficult to obtain as you may think. It basically covers 2 types of microlight, Flexwing or 3 Axis (fixed wing). Most people learn to fly flexwings first and some then move onto 3 axis at a later date. Your NPPL(M) covers you to fly both, however type conversion training needs to be completed first. The lessons are structured around a syllabus laid down by the CAA, that consists of a minimum of 25 hours of which 10 must be solo. In addition you must complete two solo cross countries, 5 written exams and a GST (general skills test).
I know it might sound like a lot but over the course of your lessons you will be guided by experienced and enthusiastic instructors, who will be always on hand. We are a very friendly bunch and encourage students to drop by for a cup of tea even when they are not on a lesson.
Even once you have obtained your NPPL the advice and help doesn't stop there. We will still be around for advice on all aspects of microlighting.
